Lucky Charms Pot of Gold

tempImagea3jD0U.gif

This is the St. Patrick’s Day version of puppy chow. It’s filled with yummy, sinful foods that are irresistible. St. Patrick’s Day is the only day of the year that I can justify buying this cereal, which makes it even more special.

Tips:

  • This recipe is a suggestion. You can add any small item to the mixture that you enjoy. I’ve used mini Oreos and popcorn, both are delicious additions too.

Lucky Charms Pot of Gold

Serves a crowd

PREP 15 minutes

INGREDIENTS

1 box Lucky Charms cereal

6 cups pretzel sticks

8 ounces white chocolate chips

1 (9 oz.) bag of M&M's

1/4 cup colored sprinkles, I used Fancy Sprinkles Pollen-Nation

1/2 cup of each pink, yellow, and green candy melts

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Separate the marshmallows from the cereal in the Lucky Charms. You will use all the marshmallows, but will only need half of the cereal.

  2. Place the pretzels, M&Ms, sprinkles, cereal and all the marshmallows in a large bowl.

  3. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave on 50% power, stirring every 15 seconds until melted.

  4. Drizzle the white chocolate on the mixture, stirring it well to coat all the goodies. To make this easier, you can lay the mixture out on a baking sheet to see where you need more of the white chocolate.

  5. Melt the colored candy melts and drizzle that onto the mixture. Once the mixture has hardened, gently break it up with your hands to create bite-size pieces.

  6. Place in a large bowl and enjoy. The mixture will keep for a week in an airtight container, if it lasts that long.
